Plumbers and Steamfitters

A mutli-craft union that represents plumbers and pipe, sprinkler, and refrigerator fitters, as well as service technicians. All of these jobs require installation, remodeling or maintenance of systems that carry water, steam, air and other liquids or gases necessary for sanitation, industrial production, heating and air conditioning, and many other uses. Workers measure, cut, and bend pipe, as well as weld, braze, caulk, solder, glue or thread joints at residential and commercial job sites

Plumber and Steamfitter Programs

​Minimum Qualifications
18 +
Driver's license
High school diploma or GED
Clean drug test
Math qualifications:
  • Provide transcripts showing a grade of B or better in an algebra course taken within the last year, either through high school or college; or
  • Results from a college entrance test that shows the candidate could be enrolled in a class at math 90 or higher. Tests can be done at a Washington State community or technical college​
Application Process
Applications accepted year-round, check with program for deadlines
​Apprentices accepted twice a year, fall and summer
Bring documentation of minimum qualifications to the training office
Applications can be submitted to the office from Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4pm, or emailed.
Applicants will be scheduled interview at a later date.
