Every apprentice has different life situations and needs. This page offers a list of resource groups that are available to support those interested in apprenticeship. Please contact each group directly for qualification requirements and specific resource information.

Once you've been accepted into an apprenticeship, there are some basic items you may need to invest in to work on your job site and earn while you learn. This can be challenging for first-year apprentices; luckily, there are programs and resources available that can help with the costs of starting your apprenticeship.

988 Suicide Prevention Lifeline

Starting July 16, 2022, callers can reach the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline by dialing 988, and calls placed without an area code will no longer work in Washington. The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline provides free and confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in the U.S. If you or someone you know needs help, please don't hesitate to share and reach out.

Workforce GPS
​This guide aims to assist workforce professionals quickly and accurately locate emergency and long-term resources for workforce program customers to gain economic stability. It includes information on rental assistance, supports for utilities and broadband, childcare, the child tax credit, earned income tax credit, nutrition and food security, health care resources, and legal aid among others.
City of Seattle Apprenticeship Guidebook 
This guide focuses on the tri-county region of Seattle and includes statewide resources that can be accessed by communities outside of the region. 


Blue Collar Fund
Blue Collar Fund exists to remove barriers to new careers through the trades for those in Washington State registered apprenticeship or recognized apprenticeship preparation programs. We gather donations and grants to help provide wraparound support of boots, clothing, tools, and other things needed to start or keep working.
Washington College Grant 
Washington College Grant (WGC) is one of the most generous financial aid programs in the country. Recent high school graduates and working-age adults from many low- and middle-income families can qualify to receive money for college or career training. 
Washington Women in Trades 
Washington Women in Trades (WWIT) is a community based, non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization whose mission is to improve women's economic equity and self-sufficiency through access and success in high-wage, high-skilled careers in the construction, manufacturing and transportation sector.
