Frequently Asked Questions

Why did Apprenticeship Navigation at Construct a Career end?
Construct a Career was funded by a grant through the Washington Jobs Initiative that ended on September 30, 2026. Without continued funding, we can no longer offer navigation services or financial support.
Can I still apply or submit an interest form?
No. We are not accepting new interest forms, enrollments or funding requests at this time. Please check back later in case funding or program status changes.
I submitted an Interest form or funding request before the program ended. Will it be processed?
Funding was issued on a first-come, first-served basis and was always subject to availability and program capacity. If your request was not funded before October 1, 2026, it will not be funded. We received an extremely high volume of requests and made every effort to fund eligible ones. If you're not sure about the status of your request, email [email protected] with your full name and email address you used to enroll.
Why wasn't my request funded?
Funds were limited and issued in the order requests were received. Some eligible requests could not be funded because the available money had been used, or because they came in too late to process in time.
Can I still contact my Navigator?
Navigator services ended on September 30, 2026.
I'm a current apprentice. Where can I find support now?
You can visit our resources pages for more options, however several key resources include :
  • Your apprenticeship program or JATC coordinator: your first contact for training and dispatch questions.
  • Washington Grant for Apprentices: financial aid for eligible registered apprentices.
  • WSLC Working Families Hardship Grant: one time grants for union members
  • ANEW Apprenticeship Readiness and Retention Center (ARRC)
  • BuildUp Apprentices
  • WSLC Unemployment Navigator
  • WorkSource: can help check your eligibility for WIOA and other workforce programs.
  • Your union hall: ask about services available through your union or employee benefits.
  • Your local's committees: some locals have groups such as Women's Committees that offer mentorship and support.
Will Construct a Career come back?
We're working to find funding to continue this work and support apprentices in the trades. Check back for updates.
